Silvain Reynard is best selling drama books author and this masterpiece was in the top hottest new books list. He is already a proven novelist which deserves your attention, for sure it has won mine. So,let me start this review properly. Julia Mitchell recognizes Professor Gabriel Emerson at the first lecture on her Dante Semester, although he does not recall her. Fate joins them several times and they begin banned (professor-student) relationship. The professor is a very attractive male specimen with an apparent dose of aggressiveness and impatience to the outside world in which a tortured soul hides which only his Beatrice can cure.
On the other hand, Julia is gentle and precarious, fragile and shy, filled with compassion and kindness to other people. Both characters have a traumatized past and their love is the only comfort and oblivion.Dialogues between them are always intense as well as their love.
Comparing the book with “50 Shades of Gray,” I was curious and began to read it. It was a little lacking to leave her unread because, according to his attitude toward Julia, Gabriel reminded a lot of Christian Gray. But unlike Anne, Julia showed courage and vigor, and for that reason I continued to read it.
I liked the numerous quotes from various literary giants, including most of Dante Alighieri and the comparison of Gabriel and Julia with Dante and Beatrice. The book is not written only from the look of a single character (which I liked very much), it is a collection of thoughts from multiple characters. The erotic parts in the book are intense but much more acceptable (at least for me) than the “50 Shades of Gray”.
Although the first part of the (for now i hope) the trilogy, Gabriel’s Inferno is quite large (483 pages), and the second-Gabriel’s Rapture is “only” 388 pages, I believe it will leave you insensitive and eager to read it to the end. But if you are in search for the greatest short novels, you can browse a little more around our website and find something more of your alike.
In any case, I recommend it
